She partnered Eric in the Doubles at the Swedish Open; Darts are far superior in every way these days. Cheers. I loved Eric Bristow when I was a kid, used to like watching Bobby George and all those characters. My old man taught me to count and add up watching darts and snooker ! Lol and it was a time when real characters inhabited the respective games. Snooker especially has become so sterile and boring now it’s rediculous, if it wasn’t for Ronnie i suspect the crowds would be even smaller. Steve Davis, Kirk Stevens, Jimmy White, Alex Higgins, Ray Reardon, Bill Wobernick (spel?) were household names when I was a kid......I bet most people now days wouldn’t know who was on the pro circuit other than Ronnie. Same for darts, it’s been struggling for a while I hear.

Fair enough you have that when playing for school and for a Sunday league team but I just didn't enjoy my game whilst playing in the academy. I totally get it mate, modern coaching has worked very hard to address those issues......it’s moved on massively. Youth coaches (at good level) know that the mind is as important as the feet.....or at least they should. Bloody shame, young talent ruined by people who didnt know any better or were just too stupid and stuck in their ways to think about it. Strange that as well as I thought you’ve said before that athletics was your thing? Never pegged you as a player

I was an idiot because once I stopped playing for Barnsley I completely jacked it in for good. I've played the odd charity match and a bit of 7-a-side with my mates but that's about it.

I think I've said it before but do they now match kids with people around their size instead of age? A big black lad joined the club and partnered me up front, he was like a full grown fella at that age whereas I was still underdeveloped. I didn't grow properly till I was about 16-17 and by that point I'd been dropped. No way on earth at that point in my life could I match him for speed and strength. All 4 of us got trials to play for the academy and only 3 of us made it, the lad who didn't make it ended up making it as a pro. He played for Barnsley, Rotherham and Torquay and is now a coach at Barnsley. I'm an idiot really because if i hadn't have got the bag on with the game I'm sure I could have made it at a decent level, it would have certainly have been a better career than what I ended up doing. I support Leeds and Barnsley but saying that I couldn't name you 3 Leeds players and 1 Barnsley player. I check how they get on every now and again and that's about it.
