Can remember back at school the kids who's parents were on benefits used to get a dinner token worth  £1.50 which could buy you a meal and drink. The smokers used to sell them to us for silly a silly price like 20p so they could buy one fag. Maths wasn't their strong point obviously. ?

That's inflation, when I was at school dole heads got free dinner and non dole heads 12p but because the tickets were a different colour for each, many kids who,s parents could,nt afford the 12p would not accept the free meal tickets because it showed you as being poor so you got feck all for lunch but had an hour down the field playing footy or nesting down the woods, happy days

Fair play to them, we should have done the same to Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness. In fact Abu Hamza would have looked tidy wasting away from radiation sickness......I’d have had a poster of i

Just keep an eye open for what May and Barnier are slipping in the back door while we have this plastered all over the porch

May's threat of sanctions must have worked as it would appear that Russia's President Putin has now revealed the name of the agent who poisoned the ex spy, as he was clearly heard to say "Yukanol Fuko

Right...........let's put this to bed ! This story isn't quite what it seems.........

When the government began the roll out of Universal Credit, they included an interim measure, removing the need for means testing , for free school meals. So, for the recent past, Universal Credit = free school meals........but this was only ever an interim measure.

Means testing will soon be re-introduced,. BUT the new threshold level will be higher than pre-UC levels. So (stay with me), those children who currently receive free meals will continue to do so, and the higher threshold means that a further 50,000 children may, in fact, become eligible under the new rules.

Labour and the Children's Society picked up the fact that means testing was coming back (as it was always planned to be !), and spun it into a story about poor little waifs being starved under a heartless regime of cuts, but neglected to publicise the rest of the facts -because the rest of the facts don't fit their narrative !

The idea that thousands of children would lose their meals was put out by Labour, in a classic exercise in misinformation - get the half-truth spread as widely as possible, before the fact checkers catch up with you !
