In theory it's a good idea.....but in practice we don't have, and could never build enough houses to house the people we already have, never mind the ones corbyn wants to let in.  The majority of

We've got enough houses already we just have to many people.

It's a joke, mate. I don't know if you're familiar with General Talk's format but compassion isn't it's strongest endorsement.

For the record, I agree with you.

Helping the homeless, what a b*****d!!

Where's the money coming from?

It would come from the national housing programme funded by the National Transformation Fund already outlined in the 2017 manifesto

"Under the plans, the next Labour government will strike a deal with housing associations – similar to that done by the Conservative over the right-to-buy – to make the homes available immediately as they fall vacant, and fund the replacements via Labour’s national housing programme. In this way, the homes for rough sleepers will become available much more quickly than if they were built from scratch."

Realistically what would something like that cost?

I haven't seen any figures for this specific part of the housing policy but off the top of my head I think it's £5 billion from the National Transformation Fund that has been set aside for the national housing programme as a whole.

Considering that public sector fraud costs the taxpayer around £20bn with a further £15bn wasted on duplicated procurement across Whitehall I honestly don't understand what the problem is. Obviously, we'd like to see these 8000 houses built under strict scrutiny that doesn't exacerbate the existing government waste but I can think of worse ways to spend public money.

These MP's are telling you how great you have it and how the economy is booming! God bless the Tories!

How much has that trickled down to the average bloke while the public sector gang r*p*s your wallet every pay cycle?

But its not just smack heads and alcoholics... What about the people in genuine need of help or the ex serviceman and women living on the streets?  What about all the homeless gingers?

What about f*ck*ng off the real wastes of money? Demanding accountability from the public sector? According to the Daily Fail ministers and officials ate £3million worth of biscuits in 2011-12! They spent £45million on taxis! The home office spent £427,000 on rubber bullets that they're not allowed to use!

Don't become a smackhead, alcoholic waster... the real money is in politics!
