mushroom 14,162
Well i was hit by my dad he was very much old school and his word was law. no back chat at all. he said Bed you just went! No family discussions like parents give to there kids these days "where you would like to go holidays " etc when i say hit i do mean that. Crack on the jaw belt taken to me. i was a wee shit but certainly didnt deserve the beatings i took. Was belted in primary school and pretty much everyday in high school. Done me no good at all and although i think the goverment are just using this for political point scoring.however i dont actually think physical punishment achieves anything. Kids these days would react more to being denied their phones or playstations. Jesus when I think back to some of the twattings I took for being a little shit. My dad must have been pulling his hair out I probably deserved each and every one of them too. My daughter over 15 years has had the old tapped hand and ass when younger and pushing boundaries, in the years since nothing other than a bollocking. The other month I clipped her for being a right little cow towards her mam. The venom these bloody women can spew out is incredible ?. Still I'm not having it, so I took her iPhone off her for a month and you should've seen her face lol but she knows dad and 800 quid or not you back chat or argue and something terrible will happen to that phone ?
dytkos 17,952
If I'd been bad as a kid I got slapped, strapped and the only times I was ever really gutted was when they made me stay in, gated, as my dad called it. Cheers, D.
Dinosaurs 2,148
My Dad had a harsh upbringing But he never laid a hand on any of us kids & in turn ive never laid a hand on any of mine. They know when they've pissed me off & voice tone has always been enough. Atb
