Pippy 0
Hi I'm not a breeder or a trainer but recently rescued a wheaten lurcher. He is a beauty. I've rescued several sighthounds so I know about the bred and prey drive etc. My question is are they trained to chase and hold? He's great with other family dogs if a bit excitable but when it gets too much he puts a paw on the small dog and holds it. Is this a common request of these dogs if trained to hunt? Unfortunately he recently got past my husband and when he caught up with him he had found a small fluffy and was holding it. The dog was unharmed (although probably traumatised) He is never off lead except in the horse paddock. Just interested as he was found straying and we have no history. No judgement either way just looking for info. Quote Link to post
