Depends if you're dragging the mrs along,if I was single and bought one of those places I doubt I'd even change those brown 1970's carpets.

I have just applied for a job in cork. Not sure if I have all the requirements they want but I am fed up with what I am doing and need a change.also the money is good . What do you reckon fellas? Good schools for my 3 daughters? Property prices? If I sell my house here I will have around £150 000 in the bank. I know literally nothing about the area. Thanks for any advice you want to offer

Ireland and the west is full of folk who moved here because of whats on offer and they buy into whole heartily, apart from the Irish the largest group is brits here,

Spend a weekend , have a look round and maybe you'll get a small sense of what the place is like but I wouldn't be coming over just to boost your bank balance

Sounds good advice, certainly the only thing really i will be leaving is family, but the world is a pretty small place these days, and i don't see that much of them anyway. As for lining my pockets, well i only mention the pay because it will be relatively good and therefore not one of the things I will need to worry about too much :)

What part of cork is the job?

Fota Island

I'm guessing you'd be coming over to a job you'll love no matter where in the world it was.

For it to be a country you might fall in love with would be a bonus. Cork is a beautiful county and a very sporting one too with just one problem.

It's full of Corkmen, LOL.
