Greyman 32,113
Don't no if this is just a local issue to me but I don't seem to be able to pop out for a quick walk with my dogs without coming home and having to remove ticks from them, I have had many more and some of the biggest ticks I,ve ever seen this year and not just a few but fecking loads, any one else having this or is it just me ? Phil Lloyd 10,739
We are trying to keep out of the woods, bracken, etc.... As you know, it's worse where there are a lot of deer.
Accip74 7,112
Try a seresto tick collar. The collars are made to undo easily if snagged. Last year in March I moved into this house & by April my dog was getting covered in them from the garden, up to this point he had rarely had one. I knew I needed something good, because he's outside all day on grass, so looked into one of these collars, it was 40 euros, but money well spent! The terrier had the collar on all of the summer of last year & I removed it in late Autumn for work. I haven't seen a tick on him since, that's over a year since he first wore the collar, absolutely nothing! Edited July 17, 2017 by Accip74
jukel123 9,486
You need to watch them on your kids.Took one off my grandson recently.Limes disease (predictive text insists on misspelling the word) is a serious disease. Guy I knew had it and it eventually killed him. Gave him all sports of medical issues, including a kind of dementia.Tick proof clothing is the way to go.

rob284 1,682
Yeah its a bad year for them. I spray a load of benzyl benzoate 5050 on their coats and let it dry out. Seems to help with keeping ticks and fleas off of them.

NEWKID 28,913
Nightmare year for ticks and fleas, I took a tick off my daughter a few weeks back. Lots of deer, plus horses, sheep etc right out of our back door so not an easy one. Dogs are being treated monthly and flea/tick washed as well.... be glad of a cold snap.
