Astanley 11,672
Heard he has passed away at the young age of 53 ,I watched him many times as amateur and young pro ,and I would of put my house on him being a world champ ,he didn't make it to the very highest level ,but I will remember him as being one of the classiest ,talented boxers I have ever seen .

In total agreement there. Fantastic amateur i thought coming up really one to watch for the future. Put in too soon with a naturally bigger man in jose seys a confidence draining defeat in my opinion. Didnt reach his potential but a talented boxer. RIP.
gnasher16 31,602
As a man Errol was the kind of black guy that white guys respected back then...he was willing to stand up for himself and give as good as he got without sneaking away and whinging to authorities.....as a fighter he represented himself very well and did what very few amateur fighters have ever done which is stayed unbeaten in an England vest...as a pro he had a good career and some fights than in todays times would of been huge mega money domestic events. I didnt know him well but the few times i saw him in later years he would ask how Mark Kaylor was the last thing i remember him saying was how they would never be friends but there was no reason to ever again be enemies which i thought summed up the class of the man and his understanding of rivalry as a sportsman and as a man in general. Good that he,s out of pain but bad that he hasnt lived a long life he was one of the good guys.
