was working for this bloke the last few days, hes a millionaire,at the start of the job we agreed on a price,so did the work to a very high standard, early start and diligent in my approach,at the end of the job the place looked spot on,his wife was delighted with the paint job,and all was well..Go to get paid,....he decides to try bargain me down...We had a bit of a heated barney and in the end I got what was asked but told him next time no more of that shit ,a deals a deal...See the car he drives, his wife has a new car 3 weeks old...fukin pissed me off it did,No wonder he is wealthy with that mizerated outlook...His own cars worth close on 70k and he arguing over 70 quid ffs...Still I made a nice few quid but trying to get it took the goodness out of it

Money doesn't buy class just a decent motor, having to haggle for your cash after a deals been agreed sours the transaction and leaves a bad taste in the mouth, glad you got your cash in the end however.

Horrible f****n motor what is he a teenage paki with a rich daddy !

I work in retail - them effniks do like a bargain

It may be just a cultural thing - my British customers tend to accept the price and either buy or not. My Asian customers love a good haggle, it's all part of the fun for them.

But, when you're doing a job for someone, haggling after the price has been agreed and the work has been done is out of order, whoever they are.

It's seems to be the way of things I work as a black cabbie and if you pick up some posh person living in Chelsea and a job goes something like £4.80 they'll wait for the 20p and ask for a receipt lol. Pick up some old dear help her in with her shopping and she'll try and give you a fiver tip. Seems the more money they get the tighter they get lol .

Its just another difference in cultures and why integration doesnt work in my opinion........the common handshake was always as good as a signed contract within British culture......whereas other cultures it means nothing.

I f***ing hate peolle like that, nothing wrong with having a deal, but once you have opened your mouth it's done and there's nothing more to talk about.

Worked for a painter one time and we done a job in a posh part of Dublin.

When we were finished my boss went to get paid and the lady of the house more or less told us what are we going to do ? Take the paint off the walls ?

My boss cut a length of lining paper the length of his van and wrote in big letters MRS O REILLY DOES NOT PAY HER BILLS.

He stuck it on the side of his van and sat outside her house.

She wasn't long coming out with a cheque.
