The opinion was that some rabbits chew and eat a lot more bark than others particularly ash, willow and hawthorn. Hence yellow/orange fat. Looks great and the rabbit eats just the same. They were old birds and fed mostly on bread, the amount of yellow fat on them was unbelievable, I cooked one to see how it would taste. It was fookin awful,greasyest thing I've ever had. That's a double handed cleaver in the pic. Six goes with that and straight in the mincer bones an all. Then boiled in water with gravy granules ha ha. arctic skua 28 Posted February 6, 2017 Report Share Posted February 6, 2017 Caught a few with yellow fat in different areas, usually on pretty wet ground with lots of reeds growing but caught rabbits same day same field with normal white fat. i just go ahead and eat them.
