It's a lot about how they're brought up, socialised and entered. I find it baffling how some lads always have workers, and others always have nothing and are chopping and changing bloodlines all the

If I could have any dog back from the past it would be a dog I bred myself called Barney that I gifted to a good mate at the time-I bred a litter for myself from him to my tiny bitch.the last time I

Good breeding with a dash of luck .

An old maguigan bitch we had . Never once let us down still was getting dug to at 14 year old and would put other dogs to shame . She was a hard mixer she was only ever lined once that was to a wheeler dog called (chip) . Produced some really good dogs that litter did . We did have a dog the same lines but didn't know until recently he was Black and Tan . Really good dog but my mate didn't want a Lakeland over her (that's what we was told he was ) . If only we knew at the time . She got pneumonia sand my mate took her into the vets . And because they see the graft on her they spade her and said it needed doing . Was gutted . So never ended up with any dogs out of her . The one I kept out of chip and her was lost to ground very good dog . So if I could go back I would of bred her to the Black and Tan dog or would of sourced a dog of similar lines . And never moved away from that line as I'm to believe that line has a good standard .

Box.Bitch out of NS stuff .She never stood for a dog in her life and had to be pts as the result of a spine injury from jumping out the back of a truck before her time .Spend couple of grand on her with vets bills and acupuncture but all failed to sort her and she eventually lost all use of her back end ,sad ,sad day .She stands out because in that era I was at it every spare moment ,travelling loads and she was the only terrier I had that I could dig to regular without the custumary lay ups for the rest .She was the reason I combined her type with my own stuff using her sister,Willow.

Could the vet spay her without the owners permission?

Not sure they get away with it by saying it was an emergency and needed doing there and then . My mate went mad and got solicitors involved . But they got away with it by saying they had a duty of care and that it needed doing etc . Twice I've know this happen my mate had a lurched bitch took her in can't remember what for it was about 20 year ago . They spade her then she died 4 days later . That was without permission . Different vets to .

Was it a funded vets ,ie did the chap pay for treatment .We have a vets near us that spays ,neuters everything but its charity funded for benifiters .There is no legal reason to spay neuter a dog without owners consent .

No mate it was his local vets . We'll both was local . I'll ask him when he gets back off his hols . What the excuse was that they gave .

Vets spayed a lurcher bitch of mine during an emergency c section -without my consent -then gave me a bill for 1200 notes-I then told them I couldn't pay the bill (I had the coin in my back pocket lol)told them they could have 20 pound a month from me the cheeky cnuts-nothing they could do.they won't see another animal of mine in that practice so long as I got a hole in my arse.bunch of dirty f***ing parisites. I asked them why they deliver frenchie/bulldog pups and don't spay them after the op-but did my dog because it's a worker?couldn't even look me in the eye lol.lesson learnt most not all are proper pricks that only care about money not the welfare of the animals they treat imo.atb dc

It's a joke but unless you've got money you'll not sue them . My mate tried . But they came out with why they had to do it and once it's done who can argue unless you get another vet on your side etc . He said I was to much of a pain in the arse and it was over somets that could never get put back right any way .

You're not on your own, I let a good mate take a litter from a bitch I owned, long story short she'd gone over by a couple of days and she got taken to the vets. The vet said we'll keep her in for a c section, when I picked her up all pups were dead and the bitch had her womb out !

I kicked and stamped but what good would it do after the fact ?

The vet was a well known greyhound fan, I thought the bitch was in good hands but it turns out she was a raving anti !

Have ta say the vets here are very good will always tend your dog if needed not to pricey either and would never spay your dog or bitch without your consent. There cheeky c**ts over there for doing that I'm sure there something there that's very useful to them that could be taken without there consent.

If I had a choice of any stud I'd use Tom O'Reillys Sam. Because he was renowned to be the best working terrier in the line & he threw a good percentage of good working terriers. A fine cut of a dog. If I had to choose a dog outside our line I'd use John Parks Mick, another fine animal. Again supposed to be a great worker & producer. There was a grand dog off him locally who was well tested & came up trumps!
