Go on I'll accommodate this thread lol the ancestors of this dog go back to mr Nuttals yard best dog I've had for a long while

You sir do sound like an anti to me. Nobody asks that many questions. Gathering information is all your at. Anybody with half a brain cell wouldn't respond to your posts.

I'm not trying to offend you or Brian, it's a case of horses for courses, 12 lbs would be of no use to me or 90% of the UK's terrier men. Brian's had a massive influence on terriers, so have hundreds

I like a nice strong dog myself and the one last Nuttall dog I had wasn't the specimen of earlier stuff but he was a handy dog nevertheless...

Yes I bought my first dog off him in around 92, it was about 9 months old , he said had a fox. It was smaller , not what I was expecting .I took him out and watching him in a local earth checking , i was impressed . the dog when on to dig alot of game , good foxes. Great single handed dog .

The fact is your always going to get followers who think his gears the business I had one over 10 yes ago big strong bitch not.like the dogs of today she worked well to ground but today's dogs aren't out and out earth dogs he must have more that don't make the grade that do and it's all down to money I'm afraid shame to let a decent line of terrier end the way it has

I'm sure the line is going strong, not necessarily in his kennels though...

Would it be true to say the lines still going were from the line way back though .

Its true to say there is a lot of good black dogs about where they started by being bought from brian direct, and good dogs originally bought from gould although if I got one of these dogs now a days it wouldn't be direct and it wouldn't be called a nuttall or a gould it would be called a black dog from x whos been keeping this stuff right for over 20- 30 years ... but there would be other old stuff through the line like Roberts old stuff but there was already many very capable good unknown terrier men in Ireland working black types and these were also infused...some gelled some didn't but the ones that did gelled well. and wether some know or not they will have originated some way or another through them yards... when I hear now a days I bought such from brian or ken direct id think to myself I think you may have missed the boat but I will wish him the best and hope with sincerity his terrier does work well.

I don't know the man nor never met him I know men who have stayed in his house and went digging with him in the late 80s and said he was sound. they bought there pups worked them and crossed them as they did and didn't go back to brian after it... they done ok out of the first purchase. I have also seen some who around 13 inch high but around 20lb weight and very capable terriers who get worked regularly.
