Good Feet Needed Here...

would you say as well, the reason they have good feet,is because they (saluki/ xs are norm light boned dogs (45-65lb) dogs,

they just have better feet ray you can get 70 lb saluki crosses with good feet.

greyhounds feet are probably ok on a slower dog though :D

would you say as well, the reason they have good feet,is because they (saluki/ xs are norm light boned dogs (45-65lb) dogs, where as big lurchers, or pure greys from 65 -85lb , running on rough ground like on this post get smashed feet. 20 odd lb makes hell of a difference when hitting ground at speed . :yes: . my big dog Buck got great feet, he handles most type of ground, ok he a big heavy dog. But its his gate when he runs his long bounding stride cover ground quick, its not like say Bryn who got a faster gate so his feet hit the ground quicker, if you see what i mean lol.

I run ground last year and every running dogs had feet injuries can see why there was so much game about

Saluki has been bred over 1000's years to run on ground like that folks.

They are feral in so many ways and agile. :thumbs:

Unique breed of running dog. !

 

Personally, have not had a running dog for well over a year.....only one i will have from now on is a pure. :victory:...............not easy to get one here. :icon_redface:

The style of running plus strong from foot all the ways through ,greys give explosive style running ,hence chances of feet in jury's flat he gaite of the sals even the fast type his natural and balanced of say the wolf designed by nature to stay sound.atb bunnys.

100 yrs ago Bird ' Greyhounds were 40-60lbs weight.

Coomassie only 44lb when she won the waterloo cup in 1877, and I think 44 1/2 lb when she won it the year later 1888.

And just having a look now at some waterloo cup results, Penelope II only 41 lb! 1886 runner up. Master M'grath only 54 lb. Seems like it's only relativly recently that you get these huge dogs of 80-90 lb.
