How To Get A Glossy Coat?

Recommended Posts

Anyone got a few tips? My bitches coat looks a bit dull

She is on good grub with sardines in sunflower oil and raw chicken beef mince etc

She sleeps in a kennel with straw bedding at the minute and has just come out of season so I just need to get her in better nick really

Thanks

Do many use the furminator brushes? This time a year I find they really do shift a lot of dead hair. I get a good handful off both of mine every few days.

I feed mine cheap biscuits and a few tins of sardines also the odd spoon of cod liver oil. Just started giving him half of his grub in chicken mince be interesting to see if he stays shiney. Though a

Pledge I find is excellent

An old Romany tip

Rub boracic acid powder well into the coat with your fingers..leave the powder in for an hour then brush out...no ones probably going to take heed, but that's life

If you want a sleek shining coat on your dog

Try it

Put a white sock on your hand and rub the bitch down really well for a few mins.have a look at the colour of the sock afterwards.it should put a nice shine on her coat.and as roybo said.i wash my dogs regular with dettol soap 3 bars for £1.its antibacterial really good stuff.i even use it myself in the shower.but it does strip the shine of the dogs coat and makes them dull for a few weeks.but that doesent bother me.

I use KM elite ultimate oil and brush with a furminator a couple of times a week. I don't bath the dogs at all unless they get covered in something as I was told that removes the good oils in the skin?

How often do you give the oil to the dogs Gaz? I have been reading about that oil and sounds like it does the job

Though at the end of the day his just a shiny dog could feed him corn flakes and he would still look shiny i reckon

Mine aint even got any bedding in at this time of year, the c**ts are on wood im sick of them dragging their quilts out lol..dandruff free lurchers at this time of year are usually kept by rosette hunters..dogs coat will come right naturally if on a good diet, bitches often come in season in early spring & their coats & conditioning go all to cock so its 3 months again until they are in tiptop order again, dogs & bitches both moult in spring/early summer too so again there is no quick fix to getting them looking pristine..if your feeding & worming well which it sounds like you are then trust me just keep on doing what your doing 4/6 weeks from now the pooch will be gleaming..i will run bare arsed around my local town at noon on a Saturday if it aint ?
