The scan wasn't a waste of time for me as I needed to know if she was pregnant due to work commitments and when to ease up on the dog ....

 

No mate gaffer isn't the sire ... The sire is a dog bred by phil that Sirius off here owns ........

With a litter that size would u expect to lose one or two socks hopefully you don't but it is a big litter best of luck with the litter.

Wev had litters of 11 on a few occasions and all have lived

We have had litter of 7 and lost one.

 

Most the time the dam lies on one thru the night if you do loose one.

 

You try your best and that's all you can do.

 

Proper whelping box with rails cuts down the chances of a smothered pup.

 

Looking at the photo There is a waste pipe attached around the box which is a great idea when you have a large litter. Socks was obviously well prepared. Nice litter!!

My bitches have twice had big litters. To help the bitch I split the pups into two lots and alternated them on the bitch every 2 hours. On each occasion i was on holiday so had the time to do that. I also gave them mince from my finger just after they were two weeks old.

I don't know whether this was a good idea or not. Max and Skycat are the ones with the genuine knowhow- but it worked for me, no losses and no runts.
