Rake aboot 4,936
One of the guys in the bike club buried his wife the other week and she had that disturbed song played at her funeral. First time I`d heard it. Pretty good cover actually.

bird 10,014
I don't narmally like remakes of old songs as I find the original has that something special about it that tweaking it can't change ... BUT I love this I think it's an amazing cover of a classic song .... very good
NEWKID 28,583
Great version, he can certainly belt it out. Think he really puts the lyrics over well, changes how I perceived the song before, or perhaps I'd never fully took the lyrics in before
NEWKID 28,583
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KoqrcTwYrgg Don't know if the link works Elvis with the Royal Philharmonic Orchastra doing Bridge Over Troubled Water... Paul Simon along with Art Garfunkle can certainly write a song, and I really like this version Edited April 17, 2016 by NEWKID
keepitcovert 842
I was never very fond of cover versions until, being an old fart joe cocker did with a little help from my friends, that blew me away, he made that song his own. Another from that era was ruby tuesday by melanie saska, better than the stones version. must admit the cover in this thread is pretty good.

Patti Smith covers smells like teen spirit.. you will either love or hate it tbh.. I love it

hutch6 550
I'm not a big fan of remakes. But, I do like Sweet Home Alabama by Kid Rock, he done well with that - It makes me feel like a good ol' Wiltshire red neck I can't stand it when they really f**k up good old songs by putting rap in the middle. I'm glad no one has messed with Gimme Some Lovin' by Fun Lovin' Spoonful' That isn't a cover of Sweet Home Alabama but The Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon and Sweet Home Alabama in a weird mish-mash arrangement.
