Most we ever got for fox pelts was £22 wet and £24 dryed and 18 for the full carcuss.Where we sold our foxs back then the lad that bought them could have 20-30 hanging on the outside of his shinning shed at a time and the house was about 100yds up the yard,many the time we drove into his yard with 2 to sell and he would finish with 3,buying 1 of his own,lol.Salmon depending on size could fetch £20-25 quid from the local hotels but that was late 70s early 80s too risky nowadays.I remember the last deer we sold to a hotel owner he gave us 100 for it but told us he could take no more as it had to be tested and stamped by law.Live rabbits £5 live hares 15.Funny story about 2 local men who were best buddys who used to set snares for fox.They each knew where each others snare was set.0ne day 1 of the men was checking his line of snares and noticed that a snare had caught but removed and snare re-set and the only 1 to know of the snare was his mate.Few days later the same man found a fox in his mates snare,he took the fox from the snare skint it and put the carcass back in the snare,lol they did not speak to each other for ages afterwards.

There is no way that you will get anything like prime condition pelts in the UK as the weather does not get cold enough for the animal to produce it. and you only have to look up the prices they are getting in the US and Canada to see that the market is on its arse.

Because of the Gulf Stream I would say Ireland's climate is milder than the UKs, on average and all Gun Clubs in Eire last year were informed of the fur market.

You're better having a few private customers on the QT. I've heard rumours of culled deer being bulldozed under in Kerry because they can't be sold legally. If that's true it's disgraceful in my opinion.
