Popular Post Dunkanon 380
There is many who knew Trevor aka Springview aka Naked Heels perhaps better than myself, I first met Trevor in the early 90s through my interest in pit bulldogs. He was a real character and we became good friends despite the age difference, he was a kind of father figure to me wether he knew it or not. We travelled around the country to various other pit bull fanciers and watched a few shows put on. We rolled a few ourselves and made a match or two, this was after Trev had been jailed for certain dog related offences. But as he put it just because the law had made something illegal didnt mean it was wrong so he carried on his interest in both sporting dogs and chickens and working dogs. I found him to be extremely knowlegable about many aspects of working and sporting dogs, and particularly bloodlines. He made no bones about sharing his truth of breeding of someones pride and joy who believed it was bred a certain way only for Trev to tell them the true breeding and explain how it was really bred and and prove it with real facts...ha ha, it wasnt always well received and on occasion I though we where going to have to fight our way out! I lot of people tried over the years to slate him and rubbish his contribution to bulldogs in this country but most of them in my opinion just couldnt handle the man who where bulldogs where concerned tried to speak the truth. He bred a few good ones himself and conditioned a matched a few winners also. Trev gave me my first coursing dog, a first x saluki grey, who was shaping up to be a good un before he was stolen. I have many fond memories of Trevor and some of the laughs we had, including my first taste of roast goat which I thought was lamb until Trevor laughed and said to me remeber them two goats I had in the field....ha ha. Or the time we put two pot bellied pigs in the back of an escort van to move them to a new field, when we went up hill the pigs slid against the back door which burst open and the pigs fell out and ran off down the street with myself and my brother chasing after them whilst passing shoppers stood watching open mouthed! makes me lagh to this day. In his life time Trev kept and dug terriers, kept wheatens, coursing dogs, pit dogs, big red staffords, game chickens and bred horses. He has left behind his brothers and sister and his sons and daughter, and many many friends from all over the world. He will be sorely missed, one of a kind and the likes that probably wont be seen again but Im glad his fight is over. Game til the end, God bless you Trevor.
