Does Jabbing A Dog Slow It Down.

Recommended Posts

I'm usually slow to ridicule old wives tales because there can often be some truth to them ,but this one IMO is a load of shite.

I know many lads who use dogs for different disciplines at top level and because they're responsible dogmen they inoculate. Doesn't stop them winning.

Well it comes from the mouth of 1 of the pioneers of feeding a barf diet.

And a well respected woman.neil.ive got a book here and have read it since owning it about 15 yrs odd.

DC,I think that depends on where you live and how you keep your dogs, all the lads that I've seen with parvo in their kennels have also been knee deep in sh*te and even after burning and replacing eve

Poxy disease that parvo I think I'd rather a slower dog that was alive than a fast dead one lol

it didn't make Ben Johnson any slower

A lad I know has just gifted away a decent coursing bitch because he jabbed her to bring her out of season last year and she's never ran the same since.

Hormones effect women in strange ways as we all know, lol.

I dont understand what you mean by take her out of season. Do you mean he gave her a suppressant to stop her coming in?

If it was in a book it must be true , ffs lol

Why would this concern anyone running lurchers anyway. competition shouldn't even be in working dogs, soon as it does that's when people talk shit and it all goes down hill.

I've put a link up about the author mate.read it and then tell me if you think the same.

(If it's in a book it must be true ffs lol.

She probably probably forgot more than all of us know put together.

She recommends feeding raisins but I always thought they were toxic to dogs.

I heard that fellas that kept bull breeds for fighting wouldnt jab them for parvo as they said it weakings them

Yea that's the jab Peter parvo I should of said in the first post.interesting how the it effects dogs.if the the fighting lads have noticed it and a top greyhound trainer has also seen it.
Greyhounds can't run on the track without all there vaccinations being up to date.

Not jabbing a dog for parvo is lunisy imo, rather it not be so quick than watch it die from parvo or worse still recover and be a f***ing cripple, with all the slippery c**ts importing dogs from Europe with false paper work you got to be a fool not to vacinate against things IMHO, iv'e known lads get cheap jabs, and every pup in litter has died from parvo, plenty of dirty fuckers out there keeping dogs in fitly conditions and jabs not in the fridge,if you to tight to pay 30 quid then you should go get a hamster lol.atb dc

I've no problem with people who have silly ideas that they believe might give them the edge over their opponent but with such a serious issue such as parvo it's sad that in this day and age there's still fools out there who wont inoculate.

Let's face it ,through inoculation it's possible to make a disease extinct but when you have halting sites, puppy farms and those who are too miserable to spend a tenner per pup then terrible diseases like parvo will always be around.

An uncle of mine was a top greyhound man in his day and he won many big races and coursing competitions. He also bred bitch of the year twice.

I remember when I was very young he showed me how to inoculate and worm pups and adults.

Was he wasting his time and would his dogs have been even faster ????????

I doubt it.

Good sensible advice but un-inoculated pups can still fall to disease in a clean kennel. Yes, I know inoculation is not 100% protection but the topic here is to not inoculate to boost your dogs performance.

Silly IMO.

I don't suppose getting hold of a vets book and putting some jab labels off a vial would be hard work DS.loads of fraud goes on.im just saying what the woman said that's all but it makes you think if top trainers mention it.
