Its probably not in keeping with todays dogooder mentality but if ever there was a reason to get shot of a dog this is surely it......if its just a pet dog whos role in life is to merely be a companio

Dogs by nature are attracted to objects which trigger the predator or prey element in them, this can be dogs, cars , people , cats, cows , leaves blowing in the wind , you name it anything

All or anything can energise the dog ,( think attraction as energy ) the dog is energised and as we know from science energy must be grounded ,

it must run to ground, and how a dog grounds out energy is by grabbing and shaking, (think fox dog screaming to get going ) it's the same energy in the fox dog as in yours, same state of mind but the fox dog has a release , unlike your mutt ,

If the dog is on good terms with you I would start feeding on walks having the dog really work for the grub , I would start it on a tug item as a way of grounding out energy , I would train it to bark on command , as a way of expressing itself and not the in coherent screaming it does ,

If the dog is really hungry ( might take a day or more , chop up hot dogs) get it to eat in the locality or sight of another dog

If it can eat , it can digest the sight of the other dog if ya get my gist, when a dog is screaming it is referencing its head it can't help it by eating it is referencing its gut , tug item also reference the digestive system

It all just an incoherent expression of energy or attraction in most cases of unwanted behaviour, stay miles away from anyone who wants you to take it to a dominance trainer, best of luck, message if ya want anymore bud ,

Prong collar can work if it's used right but found it better used as a detour not as a full stop meaning to use it to channel a dog into a different expression of work, rather then a complete cease of all activity

Mate i know people wouldnt put up with it. Ill need to get a video to show you lot just what its like. Did have loads but phone broke.

Im not nervous about seeing what would happen. Shes only a frenchie she isnt gonna do any real damage before grabbing her. Trouble is finding someone who is as ok with it. Even then im sure ones who say they would be would be abit pissed off if their dog was cut.

I will get it sorted im determined lol had enough of having to time when i walk her.

Seen a few like her, every one of them denied social contact with other dogs, i doubt its real aggression, more like an urge to interact with her own kind, you could do with a mate with the right type of dog and do some socialising, not easy if you don't know anybody granted, but i'd go for that first if poss? Could go tits up if it is real aggression though?

 I've seen dogs rescued from puppy farms act like this. She's excited by the sight of the other dogs but doesn't know how to express that excitement because she wasn't socialised.

Casso's advice of redirecting her to a rag toy when she starts screaming is spot on, definitely worth a try.

Where are you?

Training a 7 month old pup at the moment, was scared of most things except livestock. Had it 3 weeks, now plays with other dogs, greets people, has learnt a whole heap of life skills, including stock training, as well as all the usual commands.

Send me a pm.

You guys may have a point about lack of socialization. When i first got her she would pull like a steam train as if never been on a leash. Would also whine before going out and shake like mad. Stopped that by just putting the collar on and not taking her out. Then when i did id have her sit and wait before opening the door n make sure im first out.

As for aggression dogs have come over a few times and shell snap at em. Only when i first got her did i have her off n she spotted a dog, bolted straight towards it. Cant tell you what she done as it was so far away but she came back? Im more than confident to let her off the lead, if she kicks off there wont be no panic on my part ill just grab her. Its just i dont know anyone with a dog that would be willing to chance it. One person said they would but same person cried murder about taking their dogs vets when it got attacked. I saw the dog and jesus was scratches not even a puncture wound.

If it is just excitment only thing that comes to my mind would be teaching the dog to focus and calm. Would be handy if just that and off lead with em shes sweet as n can use letting her off with em as her reward for being calm. I will still go see someone professional n see what they can do. If shes aggressive such is life had aggressive dogs before. Id just like the screaming to stop.

Cheers for that offer lee ill drop you a pm.

If you were at a dig and one of the terriers started screaming as they often do,

What would you say it was fear / excitement or do we ever pay it any attention only to tell the dog to shout the f**k up,

The fact is the dog is anticipating action ,can you imaging taking a terrier out to a dig everyday but not letting it use the energy obviously built up inside, that's what going on in your dog ,

If we shift slightly our awareness of whats going in side the dog , we get a clearer picture of the issues the dog is dealing with

You know what i cant even argue with that comment gnash. I love the dog but has been times where i would have culled her. If it wasnt for how spot on she is in every other way shed be gone for sure. Guess another reason shes still here is my unexperience. Ive never seen anything like it so wasnt sure on whats best action to sort it. I even went to a dog class ffs lol certainly not my cup of tea. This is her last chance and i mean it. My phones messed up so cant get one of the videos up of her. I aint talking about a whine like some dogs do when being held back, this is a full on scream like youve thrown boiling water at her. Im abit of a soft b*****d n shes grown on me.

People here from all over the place n luckily for me leegreen is only half an hour away. Gonna pop over n see her with his dogs, see what he makes of her. Skycat has also given me a behaviourist who is 4hours away but ill travel n stay in a bnb. Thats it then i cant do no more, is her final chance.

Did look in a pet shop once but short muzzle on her meant none fitted. Also doubt a muzzle would stop the screaming which is what i want. Comments on here im 99% sure she wont be aggressive off the lead. Its more excitment than aggression just people saying that makes sense. Funny how an ex copper with years experience couldnt see that.

Reason i think that is i doubt shes been socialized. When i got her she would pull on the lead as if shed never been on one before. A frenchie is hardly gonna pull you over but would pull so much that if anyone did walk her they wouldnt put up with that. Snapped a crappy collar n luckily didnt run off, got her in a strong stuff now. Also not a scream but would put her collar on to go out n shell start whining, excited to be going out. I sorted that though over time. Im a confident handler n wont ever be any panic to seperate dogs if they kick off on my part. Like i say though im confident shell be fine off lead.
