Snapping A Dogs Ear

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't of thought any kind of dicipline via the ears would ever have been beneficial, especially with a lurcher . . To think, the dog would have to be within arms length in order to receive such 'abuse' and what a total breach of trust the mutt would feel!

It seems like a 'dirty' kind of punishment. If and when physical discipline needs to be administered, surely it should be done as 'inanimately' as possible . . A tug on the collar, tap from a stick or whip etc.

And as for a lurcher 'sitting' well, whether that needs instilling at all could be another thread?? A pointless exercise of training I've found it to be. As long as my dog remains static when told, I don't care how he chooses to do that!

FFS its not about the dog sitting down..Its about the dogs ears lying down instead of being pricked. NOTHING TO DO WITH TRAINING.....

Tell your mate to take up a new hobby and leave the dogs alone the bell end ......

Who the piss looks at post counts and then uses that figure to gauge wether the member is a genuine dog man/woman or not?   Haha. That's the most bizarre thing I've read on here for a long time.

Seen ye kennel yesterday Gaz, looked like a rspca advert haha

Ay, ay, calm down, calm down, wind your necks in! A simple mistake, that I wasn't the only one making . . Difficult reading things on a phone sometimes!

But as for 'snapping' a dogs ear to make it 'sit' right! FFS indeed, that is ridiculous and of which I might add I know nothing about, so no, evidently I don't think I know "everythig " lurchers pal

OK, so I am going a little blind too, I could do with glasses, but I'm too proud :-/ ha ha.

Actually, lurchers mate, I think you are bang on . . I believe a lot of folk who jump on treads on this particular section are fecking clueless, regardless of how many 'posts' they have next to their name/title.

I don't have anyone in mind, well, ah but let's be honest, it's difficult to tell the wood from the trees at a glance! And that's a shame really, I wonder how many times genuine dog men are put off posting because the perceived 'know it all's' with their 'thousands of posts' taking over . .

Don't get me wrong, of course some members who have thousands of posts really know their stuff and it's a shame that clueless 'armchair' hunters can post flat out and then be deemed to be on par with genuine dog men . . And dog women for that matter!

this snapping of a dogs ears, must have something to do with severing tendons so the dog cant even prick its ears to show interest or anything? sounds totally un called for imo, but then again I feel the same about pricking the ears of the guarding breeds, they are both for cosmetic purposes from what I can gather.

He said "it's a shame that clueless 'armchair' hunters can post flat out and then be deemed to be on par with genuine dog men"

Which implies that someone is deemed to be on par with a genuine dog man because he has a high post count. Never heard anything like it.

I wouldn't know how to check my post count, I bet it's high, but I haven't got a clue and my lurchers are Pets. Haha.
