dare 1,103
Reckon the film will be a success? Guessing if there has been some sort of interest all these years then people will want to see the film. Ill download it but trailer didnt impress me much parts of it seemed abit of a comedy. Just like tom hardy as an actor n give anything his in a chance. Someone should do a film on mps and their crimes lol not joking think it would have more affect than just reading it in the papers.
gnasher16 31,310
In one of Reggies books Gnash , he says he sparred with your old fella , did he ? No.....they trained together a number of times at the old Benjamin Franklin club in Canning Town and a few other gyms but never sparred.....the ol boy was a light heavyweight who ended up at cruiserweight.......Reg was a lightweight
gnasher16 31,310
as for 'kiddy fiddlers'...well one of them was...as thats what led to their down fall Al Capone better or worse?...i dont know...but he was certainly much much more successful...that was my point Like i say i havent read all the books........which one was into children ? Cant argue with your second point......not that i know Al Capone either we,ll just go on reputation alone shall we Edited September 2, 2015 by gnasher16
gnasher16 31,310
Well you,ve obviously read more about them than me i have no idea about some of those stories all i know is what ive been told by people of the generation and the area who knew them well enough to have an opinion.......describing people i dont know as " horrible " is something id reserve for kiddy fiddlers but each to their own i guess we all walk our own path and knowing the area like i do and experiencing the very back end of the post war poverty in these parts i can see how folk of a certain standing would do whatever it took to obtain wealth at anothers expense as they were dog eat dog times that simply cant be compared to present day standards......i dont have a problem with that but trying to justify crookedly acquired wealth to straight acquired wealth is like trying to justify hunting to an anti its just a waste of time so nothing to talk about there. " hardly Al Capone ".......what if they was though....worse or better ? Edited to add.....very little was heard about them during the 70,s and early ,s.........it was when the first real wave of crime books came out that their following grew and media interest went up. just read your edited to add..'Britains Gangland'...by Norman Lucas...published in 1969...a book i had as a kid...the whole Kray case was in it...it was all over the papers...and has continued to be through the 70's 80's 90's ect ect...everyone knows the Kray's story... You dont think the explosion of crime books in the 90,s was coincidental with the first wave of them about the Krays/Mclean etc then ?......not the odd book or paper report......the whole wave of crime books/films over the last 20 years you put at the feet of the media and not who is buying them ? Couldnt agree there mate. Edited September 2, 2015 by gnasher16

I was born/bred Wolverhampton , which is on outskirts of the black country , maybe difdernt mind set to cockneys mate. my old man worked at Goodyear's for 40 years, and did other jobs to get money for the 4 kids . funny thing is that he wasn't over big bloke 5ft 9in 11st all his life from kid through the war , but feck me was he a strong bloke for his size, I ve seen him with big bag of coal on his back, ride a feckin pushbike lol really tough.strong bloke, his dad was the same, and I am just bigger version 5ft 11 1 /2 12st 7 lb , I am naturally strong bloke , even before I done weights/karate . my old man used get me in the garden with the boxing gloves and have a knock with him, he never held back much well to the body lol. but you right different areas/places have different attitudes . true
Welsh_red 4,996
What i found odd in the article was they said it was pretty much inevitable they were both gay as they had the same genetic make up Didnt realise being gay worked like that

Onlyworkmatters 1,584
What I find odd is with everything thats going on in the world, the threat to the way we live coming from the 3rd world shitholes is that anyone today would give a f**k about a couple of dead gay nonces who have been an irrelevance for the best part of 50 years
TOMO 28,406
I will most likely watch the film,,as that hardy fella is a good actor,,,, But I groaned when I herd the title was " legend",,,they don't deserve that title,,,,should have just called it Ronnie and Reggie
