neems 2,406 Posted August 17, 2015 Report Share Posted August 17, 2015 A whippet x pointer/grey collie/grey (mine) nearly 7 years old an obese mongrel terrier 4 years old an overweight lab x 9 years old an overweight lab 6 years old I really need to get my own bushing dog,going out with this lot of almost useless mutts (except the lurcher) is like canine fat fighters,I feel like a feckin drill instructor trying to motivate them to hunt. 5 Quote Link to post

Some can be slow to mature however I had one (brother to my pals 7yr old) that self entered at 8 months and never looked back. unfortunately he died doing what he was bred for. Preban I found that after running bigger stuff (hares/deer) they would tend to pick and chose if/when they wanted to run on rabbits. I've seen them take everything the UK has to offer, get one bred properly and brought on right and you wont look back! 2 Quote Link to post
