Lol I don't know were your goin wrong with that pup mush you've struggles from day one haven't you especially as you take him away on weekend treking trips in the mountains n stuff, his sister is just starting to steady up now she's been like n reminds me of a springer pup to bring on none stop n into everything n seemed to know the hunting craic from just a few month old n takin a lot of holding back, she also LOVES other dogs to n wants to play with all of them aswell as mine all the time she's very playful but I'd much rather that than be aggressive to other dogs there no good to anyone, I just go were there isn't guna be other dogs that I'm not sure of job done but at the same time still also go to public places aswell were she can always continue to see n meet other dogs to keep the socialisation going but she's always or mostly on a lead at these times, I'm going through tryin to sort her pulling on the lead issues still right now with mine as Iv never known a more keen pup in my life, on a normal street she's fine but while out on a walk down country lanes as soon as a gates comin up in view or a gap in the hedge or she winds summet she digs her heels in big styley to get to em or a rabbit or summet jumps up Iv gota then dig my heels in like feck n hold on tight lol she goes possessed Iv never known a more keen pup in all the years Iv been going.

At the same time tho she's a joy to be around, great with sheep cattle n horses n really obedient she's just guna be very full on due to her keenness, but there just 12 months old and keen as mustard I'm made up with mine so far showing some great signs, Iv given her 2 slips so far just for a look n she connected well both times, also a couple mistakes doubled up with her mam while mooching about but Iv continued in holding her back again the last couple of month due to the time of year ground heat n she's still a baby very immature but from what Iv seen of her I'm really optimistic for later on.

I don't know what else to suggest just persivere do things abit different maybe like said mines comin on great guns..

Absolutely the same except Dickhead is steady on the lead and proved he's steady with cattle and horses (so far) over the last week ;) it's this charging into other dogs bollocks.

I don't know mate, Iv got 3 dogs one can be funny with some dogs apart from lurchers for some reason, the other two love dogs n just want to play with them, but I don't have any probs either way as without thinkin about it I just don't let em off near or were there could tend to be any other dogs about, if say for excample I go the beach I won't let em off until I'm well out the way, there all really obedient but it's inevitable if they see another dog they will want to go n play especially the pup n I can't be arsed goin after em plus the other person seein a greyhound type dog or two bounding towards em might get abit of a panic on without knowing what good temps they have, no mate I just never have a problem in that way n just get out of the way they play with each other or if I just take one out on there own they play with me, only problem Iv had is one time while I was in a public park so all mine were on the lead n bein good minding there own business when a couple was walking with there dogs off the lead like they owned the place n one of the there's came bounding over into mine growling n ready to kick off n my old bitch rattled it but that was neither my or my dogs fault despite the other dogs owners screeching other than that never any problems, don't take it the wrong way I know your not thick but I think if that's the only thing bothering you about the dog that could easily be avoided n your just puttin a problem into the mix that just doesn't need to be there, just get out the way n have fun n bond together, when in public let him mix but keep him on the lead then as he matures he'l improve n just end up clickin over night right now he just wants stimulation and play, I know it's hard mines been hard at times there's sometimes no off button but her hearts in the right place n sometimes you gota help them to help you..

It's difficult when the large parks here are filled with twit dog walkers, I end up taking him for his morning and last of the day walk at stupid hours to avoid other dogs. Just this morning I was at the bird's house so got to mine and out with him later than usual (yes he was with me). But Fuuck mate I should be able to take the cnut anywhere anytime ffs

He is obsessed though in a bad way and even slapping his nose, clicking fingers, growling, shouting etc will not break his focus on the other dog. The only way is to pin the twat and even then he twists and struggles to turn his head towards the other dog. It's actually fuucking me off just typing it

Sounds like you just need to channel his drive/prey drive. Id start giving him work by the sounds of it. He'll steady up with time could be his teenage stage coming through, you've stuck with him this long few more months wont hurt....

out on his own just you and him bit of game and crack on imo.... Don't let it get to the point where you don't like the dog. As you'll never like the fcking thing

It's good to spend plenty time with them but you also need some off time n time to yourself, can you not put him outside in the kennel and run for the such as when you n see the misses then he won't depend on you and your time as much n give you chance to miss each other n not in each other's pockets as much, same with a bird really apart from you can't shove them in a kennel lol..

Anyone got a shock collar I can borrow??

I'm sick of this cnut running into dogs at full speed. He's just been twatted by another dog after he steamed in trying to play  Yes the park was empty when I let him off and it's got fuuck all to do with him having to much energy... He's an ignorant cnut!

So I want to shock the fook out of him next time. I'll pay for all shipping hopefully I'll only need it for a month.

Failing that can someone point me to a decent make I can buy ;)

Cheers

I have never used one but this particular model my brother used on his APBT. He was a rescue dog with issues and he was aggresive with other dogs all the time.

It took him about 6 weeks for the dog to get with the programme, and listening to commands.

Jesus that is no price at all!

Dodger I wish I could  I have my space at work so when I'm home he is with me all the time, it's only right. I get him out to the river and out on the skates doing road work constantly every week. so he has his excercise. It really is this obsession that he has with other dogs.. it's as unhealthy as a religious obsession ffs
