walshie 2,804
Why exactly are gulls protected? It's not like they're rare. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/earth/wildlife/11740893/Pet-dog-pecked-to-death-by-seagull-in-horrific-garden-attack.html

Blackbriar 8,569
Is it not the case that, strictly speaking, ALL wildlife is protected ? Wildlife and Countryside Act or some such ? Malt or Paulus will know........I mean, you're only a moderator, how can you be expected to keep abreast of obscure laws like this ?

They used to be until a few years ago, but now it's only the lesser black back-backed gull for some obscure reason. It's the herring gulls that cause all the grief. pesky1972 5,687
Nothing against the gulls but there are far too many in our towns and cities now. I see them regularly chasing and catching fledgling garden birds. Noisy fcuking things too. Cull required, definitely.
