shepp 2,285
Yoga can be good, much like meditation but you have your body to focus on if you are too anxious to meditate. Go on YouTube and look up Jen Hillman, do the 30 min one for stress and depression.

MoChara 1,632
When I feel the start of one coming on I've went outside and sit with either the dogs or pigs. It seemed to work actually, nice and quiet either stroking them or just watching them potter about. Works wonders And breeeeeathe......

kanny 21,447
Couldn't imagine worrying enough about anything to cause me to have one,or is it caused by something else? there strange things and can happen for many different reasons I knew a lad who couldn't cross a bridge and my ex, s auntie couldn't walk the direct route into town as there was a green railing fence that she couldn't pass without freaking out... makes no sense at all to anybody else but very real to the sufferers...I don't think anyone really knows why they happen. Donna Wildwood 288
Diazepan made mine worse :/ Couldn't leave the house for 3 weeks. I feel for you mate I really do... I was put on fluoxetine (prozac) and it really really helped. BUT the doctors have now cocked up my script and I can't get any for a month. HAndy that after taking 40 mg a day for 7 years and being told never to just stop them! I looked into it and discovered that St Johns wort has almost identical properties as prozac. I have been taking it now for a week with no prozac (not to be reccommended but what do ya do when you run out and they won't give you any?) I am a new woman! No depressive symptoms, no anxiety and I actually feel! That might not make sense but on the meds everything was dulled, hardly any emotions etc. Now I can feel! Hurrah! So anyway, there are several herbs you can use. The St Johns is fab IMO. Skullcap is a really good one for anxiety as is valerian root and taken together will help you get some decent kip without awful dream (thats what they put in the herbal Kalms tabs, and they are really helpful) Make sure you eat properly and remember that alcohol is a depressive I used to wonder why I always felt so bad on Tuesdays, till I realised it was from Saturday nights drinking! I still do have a drink some nights, but I know to expect a downer a few days later, it's not so bad when you know why;) Most of these herbs you will walk past on a daily basis if you are out mooching. I have valerian and St Johns on my land... just trying to find skullcap now. If they grow near you you might as well try using em. They taste like shite but then Diazepan wasn't a bundle of laughs either Wish you all the best and if ever you need a friendly ear that understands, get in touch x
