Bosun11 537
Serious question, so you think the USA will win a World Cup before England wins another ? I think that if they decide they will then they will......they have cottoned on big time that football is global unlike their NFL. I do, the Yanks want/need a propper world sport game. They are trying to get behind 'Soccer' full time, i believe they will throw all they can at this and muscle-in. Couple that with grass roots football now on a huge scale, in a country that size and yep, they will win it before us!

I do too mate, I personally thought Germany won the World Cup the night we give them the 4-1 beating.......they just said, right that's it....we won't be having that again!! I think that with the facilities and attitude they have to and for sport out there they will just decide to do it.
Malt 379
Yanks are making huge strides into football, their run at the last World Cup was one of the first times their national team gained a whole lot of support over there. Its deffo a growing sport, the pre season friendlies between the big European sides sell out bigger and bigger stadiums each year, and they've got some monsters.. gnasher16 31,602
Americans dont do draws its not in their nature......ive lost count of the times ive heard yanks say 90 minutes and nobody wins whats the point......with them in control the rules would be turned into some kind of dramatic finale any time theres a draw......the majority of yanks think football is boring, yes they are trying to make it the latest trend but if it was going to take off it would of done by now......they wont do anything in the sport, certainly not in our lifetime. WILF 51,160
You may be right mate, strange how some countries have their own particulate thing.......over here it's all bloody Gealic Football......it's far and away the biggest thing here. Even little one horse towns with about 3 houses have massive, well developed GAA grounds with clubhouse, flood lights the lot !!! And the game is complete gobledigook !! You would never see amature local football clubs in the UK with such up together facilities, they are lucky to get a council pitch !! And you have to call football "soccer!!!" Ugh ! I just can't help but think that's the World Cup is the biggest sporting prize on the planet and it's unthinkable that the yanks won't do all they can to get it. In the last world cup, when they drew 2 - 2 with Portugal, they did it with 25m viewers on two channels. The MLS averages around 20,000 fans a game, 4000 more than the English Div 1. It's popularity has overtaken hockey and basketball. It ain't the premier league but it's entertaining enough... Especially when you consider that these guys don't earn in a year, what the average PL player earns in a week. Personally I don't think I'll see England, or the USA, win a world cup in my lifetime.
