If you go and feel condemned, then the chances are you are not in a "church" church is commonly misunderstood to be a building, the church is in fact a gathering of people who are meeting in the name Christ. "Chapel" would be more apt. Chapel folk are largely not Christian, I call them God botherers, they do what they want 6 days a week and turn up to bother God on a Sunday! The sad fact is the large majority of you have probably never been near a church, in the true sense of the word.

I have been a number of times to the CRC and Hill Song.

Would you consider them churches?

Shepp you must be pulling my leg me old mate?!? Ha ha hope you're well.

Seriously, I don't know too much about the CRC you mentioned - I'll have a look at them. I am well familiar with Hillsong though, it's not a church I wouldn't entertain - I went to a 'show' at the 02 where Joel Osteen was speaking - Hillsong were there providing the 'music' I mean they made worldy 'concerts' I've manned to look amateurish! And I'm talking Kings of Leon! Ha ha. I'm little more conservative in my approach to 'worship' I will say this though, there's no chance of being judged with them! ATB

I'm not christened, I live across the way from a church and there's a right few chapels about here. Gorgeous buildings has to be said but I like to look from the outside.

Nothing against any religion of it or anything I don't know what it is, I was took into a chapel to see inside - and I swear down I've never felt so uncomfortable in all my days, same with a church. I was Nervous, wanted out. I thought I was about ready to burst into flames

I'm laughing but it's really not funny I really do have a bit of a 'thing' about churches/chapels. Always have. Wish I didn't though!

Hi f.m, so what do you think of joel osteen an the rest of them tv preachers, personally, imo, joel is a new age preacher, he uses quotes from the bible thats it, the rest is new age bullshit, same of 99% of tv preachers, imo theres hardly any biblical churches anymore, most have been infiltraited, an swayed away from the gospels.

I think 'Christian Revival Church' is an off shot of Hillsong, more fundamentalist, with a lot of Old Testament in the services.

A bit fire and brimstone at times, put me off a bit, the guilt stuff and all that.

Hillsong by contrast I found a lot less judgmental and more relaxed.

My ex girlfriend became a born again Christian while I was with her, so I thought I would give it a closer look, have to admit it wasn't really for me.

I went to a Hillsong for an 'Easter Service' at a top west end theatre. Wow it was as professional as a full blown west end production! They must have a lot of top professionals in many fields to produce such a service.

Some of the songs had the hairs standing up on the back of my neck lol!

I would recommend anybody have a look at a show.

I may even take my present girlfriend some time, I know she would love it.

Hi agree a 100% Francie. Joel Osteen is not in the same category as the likes charlatans like Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland and other word of faith televangelists - but I feel he's nothing more than a great motivational speaker who adds Christ into the mix - that said he's done well for himself from a personal point of view, came only from his fathers shadow to become the pastor of Americas largest church. I would commend Charles Stanley of the U.S. And Peter Masters from London
