Accip74 7,112
I like Clarkson BUT over the years, with popularity he's grown into a charicature of himself. These days he really has to act like Clarkson to be Clarkson, especially on TG. Personally i honestly think he really overstepped the mark, though the media frenzy surrounding it all is almost sickening... Like Clarkson being Clarkson TG has also ran its course, with slashed budgets, predictable presenters and little imagination, it's had its day in this format. Very noble of the other two to stand united but lets face it, without the linch-pin, they are fecked. May could go on to make reasonable tv, for his quirky Englishness he has some qualitys. Hammond is imo an annoying bellend and if he never graced my tv again... great! As for Jezza, climb down off ye perch and do some more real interesting presenting, with the thoughts of the common man. His portrail of IK Brunell was fantastic in the GT Britons series a few years ago. Clarkson, if engaged in a subject can really sell it and who knows, with his support of hunting, maybe the Countryside Alliance could seize the day and ask him for some fecking help with promotion...(though sadly i fear not...!) Absolutely spot on! I actually don't mind clarkson, but everyone needs a kick up the arse now & again to be pushed out of the rut......nostalgia is what keeps TV so f***ing dull at times.......let's move on :-)
Accip74 7,112
We'll end up with some Ben fogle type prick in his ace!More likely a black or Asian woman to keep up 'diversity quotas'Lorraine Pascal would be a nice bit of diversity...... Her cooking programme is a bit second rate, I doubt she knows that much about cars. But of course that would be no bar for the BBC PC brigade. Look at some of the people on shows like Countryfile, bunch left wing metropolitan elite, much like the shows producers. She was just the first seriously hot black female presenter I could think of mate.....;-)

"Metropolitan elite"? 3 out of 5 of the presenters grew up in the country, two of them being generational farmers. Do you understand what the words you type mean? You're a c**t. I understand that much. What a mature and intelligent reply Grow up you silly little man, try engaging that walnut between your ears that passes for a brain before typing Well at least I don't need some kind of muscle dog to compensate for having a small cock. Anyway why you hiding behind an Irish flag? I thought you were a Luton Paki?
Malt 379
Well I got exactly the same outcome as Clarkson at work this week, my 'crime' was jokingly telling a management trainee to 'piss off..' Great post! I agree 100%. One of the best books I've ever read is Clarksons 'I know that you've got soul.' When he stops being a played out character Clarkson is a very insightful, intelligent bloke who speaks a lot of sense..

Oh and I'm not compensating for anything with my bulldogs you should know that, I assume its you that's been lurking in the bushes outside my bathroom window anyway? pesky1972 5,626
On the whole I don't mind the Clarkson I've seen on TV and from what I've read that he's written. Bit of an old school straight talker and, even though I don't always agree with what he says, that's a good thing in my book. From what I've read of the 'fracas', he appears to have acted like an utter prick. Punching a colleague over a meal is over the top in this day and age, but would have been out of order 30 or 40 years ago also, so can't believe that anyone is surprised by the decision to sack him. Top Gear is no great loss as far as I'm concerned. It was good viewing the first few years, but it ran it's course years ago now and is long overdue a 'facelift'. It can be good again, but it'll need a radical rethink, not just swapping out the 3 stooges without making major changes to the format.

Lusitano 294
Clarkson got what he deserved... He is like many other presenters/stars that seems to think that they can do as they please without any consequences! Top gear has been a great show but I think it's ran its course, only the longer special episodes are worth a watch these days.
