jcm 2,327
Personally I'd maybe put a collie cur over her I think It would suit your way of hunting (going off your posts) some thing that will give the pups a bit more of a coat and most of all a dog that is doing what you would want in a pup and a little extra height as you say you would like. Gaz_1989 9,539
I would put a well tested lurcher over her to add another dimension to your hunting. Nothing massive, 23"-24" lurcher to lurcher bred dog? Splash of collie, beddy, bull etc. Just what I would do and with you saying you wanted something bigger. Shes still got 5 years of hunting in her yet so i would go for something different as opposed to another whippet but only you can decide. Also just to add - I dont think you would struggle finding good homes for the pups. Quote Link to post

marshman 7,758
Ah you know you could get good homes for the pups and you also probably no what sort of dog you would use , I know I would . Quote Link to post
morton 5,369
You would be wanting to add a little more to what you have?,therefore id not go for anything much bigger or carrying to much Heinz factor, otherwise the litter would be all over the place.Id be sourcing a Beddy/Grey combo, that will offer you an increase in size and bulk, the drive, determination and stamina of the Beddy and the extra top end pace and height from the Grey, combined with what the Whippet offers this combo ticks all the box,s,especially for a bunny basher with other ideas. 2 Quote Link to post
mad4it 695
a tested whippet you know it makes sense, youll have no problem finding homes for the pups Quote Link to post
Wild-Bill 500
Beddy/grey won't go wrong at all. 1 Quote Link to post
bird 10,014
a tested whippet you know it makes sense, youll have no problem finding homes for the pups yeh or a grew= whippetx grey , you want to add bit more size you say, so these 2 would be spot on, some track whippets dogs are knocking 30 odd lb 22in and tough little buggers will pile into foxes no prob, catch rabbits and put few turns on hare, ive seen run in the 80s great little dogs 1 Quote Link to post
