Deadly Lamp Acebeam K50

Recommended Posts

I tried mine out just over a place that hold a couple of rabbits local (saw 4 lol) there's plenty of light on about level 3 or 4 or so just to scan.I never really needed the top setting although it is powerful on that setting (6) The rabbits weren't spooked anymore than they was with a striker. Was a bit misty so it lit that up a Bit. Over all I am impressed.overspill, not as bad as I expected and I quite like, Only bad bit for me is having a pup with me on this occasion maybe a more focused beam would have been better but who knows .reached plenty for rabbiting distances and more and has been said the overspill is handy to see the dog whilst running. Handy on setting 2 and 3 for gates and fences.

Setting 1 ideal for reading pornography,in the woods. did I say the last bit out loud :icon_eek::icon_redface:

Only thing I'd change for me is to have the stand-by position after the strobe as I did use the strobe setting once as a rabbit was heading for a fence and worked similar to how you'd shake the lamp,so it would be handy to have directly after the top (#6) setting rather than have #6 stand:by then strobe

marks out of ten roy what would you say??

Just got back in. No import tax to start with Beam too tight? No way. if its in the field then a quick sweep will light it up. As good as a striker? Yes....and that's on the next to most powerful

Shiny......

Good stuff stabba, i was hoping it would be what you were expecting! Pound for pound far far better value than the lightforce and battery pack, not to mention the convienience of it being so small and

If you say a striker is a 6 I'd definitely give this a 7 .

But add the fact it goes in the pocket, has no lead, don't have to carry a bag ,and being adjustable its got to be worth an 8,the beam will take getting used to not any worse, just different

To what I'm used to

I agree with the strobe being after the the stand-by is a bit of a downside . Took my brain a couple of seconds to think last night about where the strobe was and by that time I fooked a good run up bacause I put it on stand-by. We live and learn though ay. All the other setting make up for it though. I think it is easy to use with one hand and using your index finger to press button on off, or you can just push it in without it clicking for a quick scan. Once you have clicked the on/off button it is easy to take finger off button and manouver it into your hand for a tighter grip. The fact that its just a tourch with no external battery and wires makes me prefer the K50 to a lamp. Edited by flipbull

Yea I'm getting one but I just wondered if the batteries come charged or not

Thought you would get it Roybo, fast isn't it from Hong Kong to your doorstep. Now you will be waiting for it to go dark lol. I had mine out for about 4 hours last nigh not fully charged and tourch never dimmed or anything.

How many more people waiting for theres?

Only way any quarry got out of view of the lamp/tourch was over hills.

I wouldn't want it any tighter tbh, its nice to be able to see the dogs every move in the spill while still having the quarry in the hot spot, nothing worse than a real tight beam and lamping somthing and seeing nothing untill the dog pulls in enough to strike.

I would agree with the above. Brilliant for watching the dogs and quarry's every twist and turn. Seemed to have more than the usual bunnys running right at me with the k50 last night. Might of just been a coincidence, also seemed to keep the bunnys startled for longer in the one place before making it's run for freedom.

That is a problem trying to asses something over one night. We all know how rabbits will act differently on any given night. I would imagine it will take a while under all different conditions to get a true reading of how rabbits react to the white beam.

TC

Like I said TC could of been a coincidence but definately better for watching both quarry and dog imo.

Only had 1 bunny running at me last night, all others in the opposite direction but the k50 doesn't dissapoint at a very good distance.

Any signs of my tracking numbers yet FD?

No mate, i was had an email from her this morn to confirm the new addresses for the lads in remote areas, i had also asked her about the tracking numbers for the lamps that hadnt come yet, the reply was that they couldn't send all the order at once with the customs valuation being so low, it could get noticed, she said as soon as the first lot arrived the second lot will be away. So i would imagine that this week yours will be here.
