desertbred 5,490
What percentage of lads are genuinely in the hunting game for the love of it and the sport. Or are a lot in it for an easy way of turning coin , straight question. Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
It's my lively hood now as a rabbit catcher and the dogs are obviously a major part of that ... Don't know about easy money though ... However I have hunted since I could walk and my old fellar started taking me out with him ... When I retire I will still hunt ... Although its my job now I still love it and do it as much for the sport as I do for getting paid ........ 6 Quote Link to post

the big chief 3,099
Love the sport but if I can sell a few rabbits to pay for the dog food I will I just like seeing the dogs work most are of the same opinion Quote Link to post
desertbred 5,490
"easy way of turning coin" was aimed at buying and selling dogs and pups rather than lads using dogs in work or selling what they catch . 1 Quote Link to post

bird 10,014
never really made any money from my dogs , never bred lurchers, or caught enough game , bred bullmastiffs once that put me off breeding dogs ever again . but like to mooch about with lurcher or terrier just for the crack lol, you can have bit of fun with them, more than just a pet type dog that does fook all only shits+pisses when out. right now my 2 love squirrel bashing lol moved to knew place and little wood I found holds few, my dogs go mad for them ,Bryn try's to clime up after them, and Buck's the same seeing big lump like him tying to go up after them cracks me up . just like to get out with a working dog bit of fun and plenty of fresh air keeps a old twat like me fit 6 Quote Link to post

Dewclaw69 484
worked dogs for 30 years and never made a penny. only ever bred 2 litters . one staff and 1 terrier and most of those were given away. its the sport and a bit of free grub for me. if my current dog turns out how he is looking to do i'd like to take a pup from him at some point in the future.
