Fortunately my permissions don't suffer too much attention from cowboys but this time last year I found one of my favourite earth wrecked, totally destroyed.

5 holes dug, all into the tubes. None backfilled.

I spent one and a half hours doing the best job I could repairing the earth but as I walked away I was sure that this earth was finished.

Today I had a real nice dig in it.

So lads, learn how to backfill correctly and the earths will repay you time and time again.

There is an earth not very far from me that was ruined by cowboys, dug the bollox out of it and walked away leaving it like a mine field.I am living where i am now 25 years and have dug this earth from the 1st year i moved here maybe 2-3times a season up until about 4 year ago when these clowns destroyed it,and a few lads of here have dug it with me but have not had a dig in it since even though we tried to repair it as best we could.People always brag about the depths they have dug but imo backfilling is just as important if not more so.

There unreal there's cowboys going around my area that are destroying earths. I no of a couple of big places that have been ruined and to make it worse is that they don't even have permission so the lad that does have permission gets the finger pointed at him.

some days i do more back filling than anything it does my head in when inexperienced cnuts leave burrows open and destroy them, even tho im probably fixing for them again but couldnt walk away and leave holes all over a field thats exactly why its so hard to get permission these days would ya blame farmers with livestock and holes everywhere

There's a spot within a mile from my house. .about an acre of woodland..an old earth big place. It looks like a bomb has landed there. Ruined in the last few years..too much effort to back fill? There's idiots in all walks of life but to me leaving holes open is just pure stupidity...it's like a football team destroying the goals and digging up the pitch..only to realise a week later they now have nowhere to play..idiots.

A lot of the time it's hunts in the area too...obviously with cowboy terriermen. Always try and get 6-8 inches above the ground level so it sinks just about level.

the place we done today a hole was left open in one of our old digs not deep so wasn't much to dig out the first question we ask the farmer was has the hunt been on recently and sure enough they were f***ing wankers

On a slightly different note two of my earths that no one else used to dig have been dug in the last week and as gutted as i was that someone else now knows them i have to hand it to whoever they were as their backfilling was absolutely perfect. Nice to see for once.

We went into a spot the end of last season and a 7 foot hole left open with a handle of a builder's shovel left beside it. I'd say it was only dug a day or two before us. We spend time fixing it up right we went there the begging of this season and got a nice dig in it. Lucky we checked it when we did or it would of been wrecked for this season.
