RossM 8,149
I would have a tad more respect if they put their hands up and admitted their mistake instead of trying to justify their error in a roundabout way therefore making themselves look an even bigger dick trying not to look like a dick....... 2 Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
Complain You have a duty to complain about arrogant idiots like this. If you are hppy for him to carry on like this, then you are simply allowing it to happen to other hunters. Do not let this lie. The police forget they are PUBLIC SERVANTS and are there to SERVE us and PROTECT us. They are there to uphold the law, not enforce it(that is for courts to do) and they should be reminded of this. Do not be afraid of them. I`ve thrown more than one out of my house because of an attitude and they have been reminded of their place while standing outside in the rain. Suggest some training to his boss. 7 Quote Link to post
DEERMAN 1,020
Be careful up there I have a mate who lives there and has for 50 years , and he's told me the police have some keeper who drives around most nights in a little jeep who just looks for boys driving around he got no powers and just drives past and takes number and phones police then they get pull on way home 1 Quote Link to post
Dewclaw69 484
gotta be real careful with the plod. as said before, we probably know more of the law relating to what we get up to than they do. but antgonising em aint the way to go. if some arsey copper puts his mind to it they can make your life a misery. 2 Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
So just remain scared of them then ? is that it ? That will be right. They can try and make my life a misery all they like,, better folk have tried and failed. Get onto their boss and get them sorted out. 2 Quote Link to post

Rake aboot 4,936
But would you accept that now ? I doubt it. Harassment is a serious charge to throw at a copper, they wouldn't dare harass somebody because they couldn't do there job correctly 1 Quote Link to post

Harassment is a serious charge to throw at a copper, they wouldn't dare harass somebody because they couldn't do there job correctly you're right mate i wouldn't but neither would i be as cocky. a 25 mile drive to pick a lamp up and frequent flat tyres on the motor soon wears a bit thin. but as you say i'm a bit older and wiser and there's more than one way of skinning a cat as they say. back then i could easily chat myself in to more shite than i was originally in. not now mate . 2 Quote Link to post
whippet 99 2,613
if you are pursued by the police and look like your getting pulled , record what you can on your phone ,.......evidence works both ways 1 Quote Link to post
dymented 2,220
Coming home from lamping last night and got pulled by the police in Monmouth, checked the truck all ok then asked what guns I had ( I am SGC and FAC holder), when I explained I only had 2 dogs and that we had been rabbiting on permission, showed him the text I sent to the farmer telling him I was on his land and the reply saying that it was ok He then went on to tell me I had broken the law and he could arrest me !! When I asked why he said " you have told me you do not have a firearm with you and in the hunting act it says that if you pursue any animal with a dog you must humanely dispatch it with a firearm once it has been caught" At this I burst out laughing which seemed to annoy him even more, he then went to his car and got a lap top to show me the part of the act relating to bolting foxes and humanely dispatching them, when I pointed out that a rabbit was not a fox he had a bit of a strop and kept us there for another 20 minutes while he sat in his car, then coming back to the truck and advising me to go home and read up on the law because if he ""CATCHES"" me again I will be arrested. I total we were there for over 40 minutes, nice to see our taxes going to waste you need to make formal complaints when they get fed up with people complaining they might google the hunting act and then instruct the idiots trying to enforce it you are not breaking the law , 3 weeks be for i got raided i had the same while out ferreting its illegal to hunt with a dog i told them plainly go away and get some one who knows the law when i went to make complaints i was told by the local plod all hunting with dogs was banned in 2005 lol i did explain and ask them to look it up 3 Quote Link to post
