unlacedgecko 1,467
Aubiose is excellent. Its a technical horse bedding, wicks the wet away from the surface to maintain a dry layer nearest the animal. £10 a bale. I get through a bale a month for a large lurcher and a Labrador. http://www.aubiose.co.uk Quote Link to post
lurcherman 887 13,425
Mite free and medicated straw in winter and carpet or blankets in summer always dry off in shed for half hour till dry then in they go Quote Link to post
WhiteN 15
Bed down excel horse shavings, scented so if dog pees on it it soaks up and don't notice.the smell, it also stays dry on top. Only problem is it does make a bit of a mess but if you can sweep up regularly it ain't too bad. Quote Link to post

I use plastic barrels for kennels. Just put the bedding in dry. The top two or three inches is always dry and have no problem with condensation. The lid on the end of the barrel is only half removed. The half remaining keeps the bed in. A little will be walked out when the bed is fresh, but the dogs track in moisture after walks and through respiration, so it settles quickly. And it really does compost well. Excellent stuff in my opinion. It shall remain my beddi g of choice for a long time. 1 Quote Link to post
Dead Eyes 681
Am I reading this wrong? If this is for a kennel dog then just raise their kennel off the ground slightly and use whatever you want Terrier sizes love memory foam and i think it keeps them warm too Quote Link to post
