Wanted Failed Earth Dog/bushing Terrier

I'm looking to add a bushing dog or bitch to my team, I know it's a long shot but I am looking for something working cover, a terrier that's failed as an earth dog or a purpose bread bushing terrier etc.. I want something to work with my lurchers along the hedgerows and a bit of ratting around the farm.

i would stay away from a failed earthdog, they can still drop in and that could end up causing you some bother if you're not prepared,

seems quite a few bushing types being purpose bred now so you should be ok to get a pup somewhere mate

Better off with a spaniel work cover far better than a terrier

not really true that theres some places were a decent terrier beats a spaniel hands down and vice versa better getting a purpose bred pup normally across between the two

just my opinion through working both and would never use a terrier for bushing there meant for groundwork spaniels are bred for pushing game out of cover and have never seen a spaniel not going through thick cover that a terrier would

I can give you the Map grid references of a lot of failed 'digging dogs' in and around the Devon and Cornwall and beyond if you like. They should still be there......lol. I have seen this request many, many times over the years and always give the same answer......stay away from Terriers for 'Bushing', especially in these modern times of technology.
