dai dogs 2,141
7am up and on my way to a place i have not been for some time usually about 2 hours drive. About an hour into my journey i cut across the sennybridge army training range. As i drop down over the other side of the range standing in front of me is a wet foxhound looking very sorry for himself . Looked like he been out all night thought i better get him back to the hunt kennels. Could not put him in the back of the land rover with the lurchers so the front passenger seat it was. Turns around and about 10 miles later ( but what seemed like 100 miles with a wet steamy hound by my side ) i stop at a garage to get directions to the nearest hunt kennels and on my way i go. 10 min later i see a couple on horseback i turn off ignition not to spook the horses and ask directions. They tell me i passed the kennels about a mile down the road. Turns the ignition key land rover wont start and after a while i give up on trying and decide to walk the hound to the kennels. Gave the young lady the hound back she was pleased to get him back and says hes been out all night and puts him in the kennels. Well walking back to the land rover thinking what the fxck am i going to do now. many hours later i find the problem and manage to repair it ( fuel line split ) so gets home at 3pm no hunting for me today... 3 Quote Link to post

You did the right thing. But those hunt folks didn't even offer you a lift back to your truck? ATB Quote Link to post

Maximus Ferret 2,065
As above, you did right by the hound. As for the Landy, they may go wrong a lot compared to modern motors but at least it's possible to fix the feckers yourself. My son has an ancient one and another for spares and then a pile of other spares. He's always swopping bits round. Quote Link to post
