arcticgun 4,548
a lot of them get the words 'gangster' and 'drug dealer' mixed up, Gangster lives off drug dealer (who also may work for gangster ) and many other employees of the underworld. Drug dealer works for gangster? Then surely his a drug dealer his just higher up in the food chain? I suppose when you think of a gangster or villian you think of someone doing well for themself. Most dealers make hardly f**k all and aren't any sort of villian just salesmen and scumbags. am talking 'Gangstar' pal think the latest JD tracky( brand new ultra white as only daz can be used on it ) Nike Air Max (again latest issue),topped of with a nice white baseball cap, (High top optional) maybe a large gold chain and a selection of gaudy rings (max intent to injure), 3 year old Audi, merc, beamer, days spent down the gym chatting to pals (ya knwo the sort) and injecting steroids, deals coke and various other recreational substances, usually found in the company of a small scrawny smackheid (ready to take the blame whilst on buisness, in the company of other derranged wannbes in leisure time ,also spends days terrorising weaker people out of debts they should never of let them build up in the first place , said person can be black or white, even somewhere inbetween whatever , they all over the feckin place (also know as 'da hood or me hood' they live in 'Cribs (small scruffy council flats with massive TV lol)' but occaisionaly buy lovely properties in areas the locals turn in their graves when they 'rock up in da hood' (not to worry they usually only ever 6 months away from addiction or the plods jailing them) always heard talking about 'respect' 'violence' 'killing' 'bitches' 'Feds' 'Ho's' Jail stories etc etc that seems to be the modern perception of Gangsters I worry about the real ones , the ones we vote in and rob us with no violence or intimidation and the bankers The real 'gangsters simply sit back somewhere nice , enjoying their legend, mind they only one door knock away from a long holiday cos theres always the 'grass' (see any of above mentioned for that ) Edited October 24, 2013 by arcticgun

gnasher16 31,346
Always interesting to see some folks enterpretations of " a gangster/drug dealer " .............all the major cities have a handful of people who over a lifetime will have made good money from crime, they will usually have a very good business brain and your not going to know their name from " street talk ".... having a few ol bill tucked away in your back pocket and a good accountant is far more important to these people than a bunch of toughies running round trying to get a rep !

Them types will always exsist in any society, likely the economy would collapse in some countries without them, they don't harm or have conflict with ordinary people on a rsonla level, except living around them , like you say out the limelight, laughing there arses off as the bobbies chase the idiots who keep them in luxury from a distance.. and it goes on and on lol

dare 1,103
Those with the silly street names ect are just the foot soliders at the bottom taking the most risks and earning the least. Think that's most dealers though or least most do it to pay for their lifestyle rather than earn enough to change their life. Aim of a dealer is to make money not become famous. Can't see why they'd want to be known with what it could cost em. Probably the same reason I remember blokes twice my age facing their dogs off at an old reid show in the carpark. Stupidity and ego. low plains drifter 11,140
Both powerful and fearless men right enough......must admit ive never thought Roy did himself any favours with these interviews they make him sound like a sore loser especially being that Lennie wasnt around to dispute what he said......besides which if David Haye can get slaughtered for using a broken toe as an excuse for losing.....using ginseng as an excuse for getting sparked out... well.......... Lennies cousin who i knew from the boxing got me a job working on a door with the pair of them years ago when my life was in a shit state....everyone knew who Lennie was and i must admit i was a bit wary of him and thought i might be a bit out of my depth but he was great i wouldnt say we was friends but i got to know him over the few years i was working, this was after the Shaw fights he was about 11 or 12 years older than me but even at 22 stone whatever he was he could move when he had to ive said many times ive never seen a more explosive man than Lennie. What needs remembering with the fights with Roy Shaw is in Roys defence he was much smaller than Lennie and a good 13 maybe 14 years older.......Roy only lived a mile or so from me in the last years of his life and we had similar business interests so spoke the odd time i always found him a gentleman and a nice fella.....but with or without gloves id say Lennie would have beat him 9 out of every 10 times they fought........couple of good old school boys out the East End who done well for themself after a rough start in life. Did you know of Lew Yates Gnash ?, read his book a few years ago

Dig-deep-draw-charlie 2,713
Roy Shaw won the first fight?? Then the 2nd Lenny actually trained for it? Give Roy abit of a pasting, put him through the ropes! even his ring name was pretty boy McLean lol Roy then said he was wiped out on sedatives or something, then the 3rd fight, Shaw got hit that many combinations he thought he was a safe lol
DogMan85 722
Let's be honest both were very average fighters although Shaw did once beat an injured and grossly out of shape Ron Stander.
