pip1968 2,490
if they have admitted negligence it should be a straight forward case as you already have the evidence written infront of you hope you get it sorted mate

RubyTex 1,957
It depends what they have written....what do you mean by 'basically' admitting negligence? Sorry for your loss.

However, there'll be a big difference between them basically admitting it and them taking 100% responsibility and admitting negligence.... All the very best for the future...

albert64 1,882
my heart goes out to you and your misses mate you've been through an absolutely heartbreaking experience but I thought you said in another post it was through some flap ? not working, and he wasn't strong enough to make it to another hospital ? in tragic circumstances like yours theres always the doubt, whos to blame, why has it happened to us just be carefull not to drag out your pain and suffering and remember your beautifull little boy but if its due to negligence on anyones part and you have written proof then screw there arses to the floor
unlacedgecko 1,467
There are several firms which specialise in medical negligence litigation. Do a google search. The one that springs to mind for me is Irwin Mitchell, however, they are based in London, Leeds, Manchester and Madrid, and they have a charging structure to match. Take all of your documentation, photocopy it, photocopy it again then take 1 set of copies to a solicitor. Keep the other set of copies as a working set and lock the originals in a safe. Almost all solicitors will give you 30mins free to discuss your case. You will need a firm that will offer you a no win no fee arrangement, unless you can afford £3.60 a minute, plus VAT, plus expert witness fees of approx £1000 per day. Even if you are no win no fee and you lose, you may still have to pay the legal costs of the other side.

WILF 50,367
Was wondering if anyone knows how to get thw ball rolling with this, my son died die to there negligence and they have baaically admitted it through documentation and want to make sure it never happens to anyone else so wanted to somehow do something to put them straight, sorry if thats worded wrong I read your othe post and its a terrible thing that has happened to you matey but I thought you said the little lad had a very rare heart condition? I will be honest, I dont beleive for one second that that every nurse and doctor who was there was not doing their very best to save your son, When bad things happen people want to blame something and thats understandable but sometimes there is no reason and thats the hard thing to come to terms with. In my opinion, you wont be stopping this happening to anyone else because all PCTs know that the spotlight is on them anyway......all you will be doing is depriving the PCT of valuable money and making them deal with more red tape which could mean someone elses child does not get the care THEY may need in time or that care even be available I am no fan of the NHS, but I do think the people who work in the NHS want to do a good job but the claims culture makes it a nightmare for them to do anything........they are always having to cover their arse and practical, direct treatment gos out the window Bury your boy mate, do your grieving and never forget him but then move on
