Vets That Hunt?

Recommended Posts

I'm mulling over changing career after 19 years in the NHS nursing and considering moving into veterinary nursing but wandered if my hobby of shooting would count against me since you don't often hear of vets or vet nurse going shooting?

I'm a vet nurse, now doing A/E nursing as well - been hunting since early teens, and shooting from not much after that. Lots of Vets shoot, less hunt than I remember from years ago, but that could well be time constraints as much as anything. One of the vets I work with now, was point to pointing with me 15 years ago, and we still meet up hunting.

I certainly can't see it counting against you .

My wife works for an equine vet ,there are at least 4 vets who shoot , 2 who hunt , 2 girls in the office who go beating , 2 nurses that hunt, i cant see you having a problem espiecially if its a country vet .Go for it ...good luck
