Bosun11 537
Spuds have gone mad this year, and I think it's because I changed tactics. Invested in spud bags about 4 years ago, and crops have always been poor. So this year put (first earlies) in but put a higher volume of soil/compost in. About two thirds full. They sprouted well, and rather than dig for soil to cover them, or buy compost (feck that!) I used the spoils from my logging patch, a mix of sawdust, bark and soil, as I figured it's not really about nutrition, it's simply to cover growing spuds, and the mix they were planted in was good enough anyway. So I've kept them topped up with that and... Anyways, I've got more healthy foliage than I've ever had, so I'm hoping for a decent crop.
