gnasher16 31,472
Can a single crow catch and kill a mature fit rabbit ? Was out earlier and saw a crow having a munch on what appeared to be an otherwise clean healthy rabbit it just sparked a debate with a pal and neither of us really knew the answer.......so thought id ask the experts ? Attack Fell Terrier 864
I'd doubt it it? But then I'm not an expert on crows or rabbits.
Brewman 1,192
Buzzard could have nabbed the rabbit and the crow or crows could have fooked him off. Crows do that to them and they won't fight back just fly away.
charlie nelly1 142
They really have no need to kill with there being plenty of dead flesh around, but it has been known here for one or two crows to take mixy rabbits eyes when they're still alive, however i doubt they'd manage to deal with a healthy one
Born Hunter 17,910
Very unlikely, they're just not made for it or have a need to. That said, I wouldn't like to say it's impossible or never happened.
Chid 6,789
not a chance
Lab 10,979
Couldnt see it. They certainly have the beak power but i dont think they have the feet strength.....
socks 32,253
I would say a definite no ... The crow doesn't have talons or a hooked beak like a raptor and no way on earth without that arsenal would it be able to hold on to and kill a fit healthy adult rabbit ... They can be strong feisty buggers them bunnys ......
Malt 379
Wouldn't have thought so.. They will kill, I've seen crows attack a young pigeon that had fallen from a nest, but I reckon they'd have no chance with a rabbit..
Chid 6,789
ive seen a male harris kicked off a good buck rabbit and there made for the job so a crow as 100% no chance
DIDO.1 22,862
Seen one knock a fan tail pigeon out of the air and kill it on the ground. Also seen em killing quarter grown leverets at silage time. Nasty black cnuts. It gamekeepers spent as much time killing crows as they do obsesssing over foxes countryside would be a better place. TUFFTY 1,484
Ive seen them hit wood pigeons in mid air and kill them when they hit the ground. Seen it several time in the same area. A pair must have it off to a tea.
