FUJI 17,729
Myself and my lad Frankel had a walk out this morning with "some" of the gang ..we took Don,Swift the two elder lurchers,Frankel's two Patterdale's Tank & Pip and i fought on with the two coursing bred pups Boots & Fife now 14 weeks old'' ..within 20 seconds of climbing a gate into some dense scrubland which then turns into woodland the two terriers were "on" with Don soon on their tails with Swift not quite getting into the thick of the action until it was over and horizontal after being pulled by Don ..the pups had a good old sniff albeit at times a few feet away being a bit wary but it was a bit chaotic for them i think? .. we continued onwards and walked the woodland until we were able to go no further as there is a 12 foot fence so we crossed a large newly seeded field to another piece of woodland which we entered and by walking back towards the direction from where we had first set off also turns to scrubland prior to reaching the road..possibly not half way through the woodland the terriers again give us the tell tale sign they were onto something,Don and Swift were away in a flash, after about 2/3 minutes i seen Don heading back towards us then 30 seconds or so later the two terriers could be seen but just through the trees way up on the skyline i seen two objects, one was Swift about ten yards adrift of the other..we seen nothing, heard nothing and possibly ten minutes passed before we went to look for her..on finding her she had "scored" pretty close to where we entered the woodland ..a good wee walk out..2 up and 2 down and only out the house an hour and a quarter... a few more pics from our walk out this morning.. Born Hunter 17,974
That's a lovely bit of ground for a mooch about. Can't beat daytime hunts with a few dogs imo. Lamping is convienient (for a working man) and great for putting lots of tackle in front of a dog but for pure quality daytime jaunts win it everytime for me, it's those hunts, courses and kills that burn themselves in my memory over all others. 3 Quote Link to post

FUJI 17,729
Great pic that Chalky ..tell you what though i didn't realise how the years have caught up on me? ..i can hardly climb a fence, even climbing a gate i make it look hard work ..ten year ago i would and could nigh on hurdle them..my back is knackered,my knees are fecked, joints are bolloxed...just about ready for the knackeryard ...my lads still think im in my 20's..them feckers live in the gym and eat all this healthy stuff..im a bacon sarnie,a pan of chips and sausage and egg or a tatie pot  ...the b*****ds have never lived ...best laugh today was when i finally found Frankel fighting on with lurchers and terriers swinging on the critter he said "i could do with a hand here" ..i just strolled along and phoned him to see where they were at ..bollox to that rushing and hurry up malarkey Quote Link to post
