jonah. 775
is it fcuk over. going to get worse before it gets better (if it ever does), public sector cuts are nowhere near kicking in yet. pay and working conditions are being screwed down all over the country, better down south ?, try telling that to the 1400 boys at ford.., lots of companies using the economic "climate" as an excuse to fcuk there staff over at the moment. talked ourself into this recession, gonna take a lot longer to talk ourselves out.

neil82 1,088
usual sheite with this, the recession hit the big money people first and they were the ones who bleated over it, eventually it filtered down to the working class and it hits us harder, when they say its over and the country is in growth you can bet your kids on it taking years before we see any increase in either what we earn or what little we have buys

NEWKID 29,047
I'm really busy, took some big risks in our business over the last couple of years and it could pay off........ Me and my brother started our business in 98 and have recently merged with another company we design and build steel frames and cladding packages, we've got a small fab shop for staircases, handrails etc. The main thing I've noticed is you've got to price tighter to win work but there is work out there........remember my dad last recession saying we were going to lose the house the lot, said he never had a job come in for nearly 6 months....... I agree that the big companies can manipulate the situation as far as laying people off etc though.....

foxfan 479
This isnt a recession, its a transitional period while they take us out of democracy and into a dictatorship ruled from Brussels. If you cant see it happening, you're not paying attention. Have a nice day.

Guest cookiemonsterandmerlin
The recession is word thats all based on numbers we are plus 1% which better than minus 1% either way 1% is huge overall . On indvidual case how was your life before and after whats the diffrents to each of you . EG had a job dont have a job or benefits was X is now Z which means can only buy 4 packs of fags instead of 6 . Is the north south work divide still huge I would say yes . Born Hunter 17,959
Ask yourselves what is 'recession'......... It's not bullshit, we are out of recession by definition! That's fact! What's bullshit is the general belief that getting out of recession will instantly fix everything and we will be as prosperous as we were in the late 90s/turn of the century.
