BS40liam 203
Right I bought a knife at an outdoor shop which to be fair it was cheap! £2.75 to be precise. Now I know you pay for what you get but the bloke in the shop swerved me of a £8.00 paunching knife for a straight 3inch thing and he's said that its better quality and the blade lasts longer...now on gutting some rabbits the other night the knife will not slice up through the skin. I've sharpend it and its still usless! So can anyone recomend a decent cheap-ish knife and nothing to big either? Thanks.

masmiffy 82
Shop bought lock knife go for a carbon blade Opinel or if fixed blade then a Mora. (personally for rabbits I prefer a lock blade and not too big either!) There are loads about try http://www.bladesandbows.co.uk/folding-knives-44-c.asp all sorts for all sorts of prices. Have to agree that midnight has done some super stuff.
moxy 617
Opinel without a doubt. Reasonably holds an edge but hones up quickly to razor sharp. Cheap as chips to replace and no tears if you loose it. If your going for a fixed blade. Sheathed knife then try one of the fellas on here. Something small and simple, your not going to be tackling elephants. More importantly it doesn't matter what knife you have if you can't sharpen it correctly.
