MUNTJAC

Had them, (sorry seen them), all over the west midlands, Swindon and shropshire.

I have seen them in swindon. How far west into shropshire have they been sighted... :hmm:

 

 

I know you seen them in swindon, i was there the week after you!!!!!!

 

On the Clee Hill in Shropshire.

Cheers for the replies..... would like to hear of any reports as i am trying to find out the areas they are now spreading into, espcially those unusual ones.... :yes: IMHO all the reports north of the Humber were deliberate releases as well as those in cambridgeshire (and therefore up that side of the A1) too. ;) Interested is they have moved far into kent and south wales. cheers

always see a few just down the road in rutting season.

ERM......muntys dont have a rutting season matey..... :whistle:

didnt know cheers , it was a male running in circles on a road with its nose in air and as it was fallow rutting time assumed the same.see females around the same place off & on.seen munty in field nr chepstow by the coleford turning in broad daylight.and theres plenty of big fallow around here,the pup from heart of wales breeding put one up in a thicket only 4 nights ago.luckily shes good on the recall.

the muntys can breed all year round mate , thnough there tends not to be as many fawns in winter, but i feel that is more down to "short term" evolution maybe...... :icon_eek: i have seen babys in febuary and caught half grown ones in january.... :yes:

I always thought there was none up this way but madhunter reckons he saw some just a few miles up the road from me near the motorway services, would love to have a do at them myself, with a rifle of course, no dogs :whistle: :laugh:

PLENTY OF THEM AROUND HERE IN SOMERSET I HAVE SEEN THEM IN BRISTOL UP BY THE DOWNS SO DO WE CLASS THEM AS URBAN MUNTJAC TO GO WITH ALL THE FOXES IN BRISTOL :laugh:

 

My mum reckons she saw one up on the downs.
