David K 172
Is there a shortage of ferrets in your area? It does seem a little irresponsible to be producing so many kits that are going to have to be homed, some of which will end up abandoned or dumped in rescue centres. Plus do you not think it may have been better to find out if you need to separate the jills with kits BEFORE you decided put a hob in with them all? Link to post

skinner 348
I have alway kept my ferret in hutches but last year decided to keep them in a comunal court. They live in an 8x6 shed with a 4 x 4 outside run. They dont have nest boxes but there is a heat lamp in there that warms up one corner if the temprature drops. I have 7 gills in there all of who came into season togerther, I put one lucky hob in there and he has sorted them all out. Now for my question......... Can I leave all these gills in together while they have their kits or do I need to split them up into seperate hutches. The hob has been removed now so I just have a shed full of pregnant gills Any constructive advice greatly recieved pack up with the ferrets and do flower arrangeing Link to post
Kay 3,709
A bit late asking for constructive advice now, all you can hope is that some of the jills haven't taken , if they all produce within a week of each other then basically you're going to have a hell of a lot of kits to feed & find homes for I agree with the others about the whole fiasco being irresponsible at the very best Link to post

BenjaminCadd 109
Why would you breed 7 ferrets and not even know what to do with them? MONEY MONEY MONEY you cant tell me all the kits and Gills will get 100% attention throughout this. Got to feel sorry for the Ferrets! Link to post
terryd 8,955
On the plus side it sounds like the present ones are well looked after. My self I was getting stressed about having one unwanted litter I have landed my self with this year let alone 7 Link to post
max abell 198
Sorry mate for being negative but breeding all 7 jills was not a sensible move even if you do find homes for all the kitts some of them are bound to end up in the wrong hands and end up in rescue centres if there lucky or even worse live a short life of neglect and misery You should have asked advise 1st mate before breeding that lot Link to post
derbylad1 293
You've clearly read all the comments that everyone has wrote and hopefully you've took it on board for the furture. Howver what to do now????? If its not to late, get them aborted. If you cant be arsed (this is what i'm expecting tbh), then either one or two of the jills will take upon themselves to kill all the kits or you can kill them yourself. But for fucks sake dont try and keep them or sell them on. Link to post
