All this thing about a dog on a chain will be more aggressive blah blah blah.....what nonsense......ive kept dogs on chains,in runs and on cable lines.....cable lines i always found best followed by c

hey lads i wasnt being a smart arse, just was messing he corrected someones grammar, and got it wrong himself.just thought it was funny sorry .

i i captain

cant abide seeing dogs on chains. probably becouse every chained dog ive seen has been kept like sh1t . scrapyards farms and a few back garden guarddogs. all manky with poor housing and shite everywhere. you can only go on what you see. and thats what ive seen

ye but that's down to the bad owners not the chain/kennel setup.

some of the best, most well looked after dogs Ive saw over the years were on chain/kennel setups but also some of the worst! that was down to bad owners not the setup.

nothing wrong with keeping a dog on a chain as long as he/she is well cared for and walked regularly.

Can somebody describe a decent chain set up...... I've only ever seen on like I've said, on grass(mud

Pit).

Is it a stake in the

Ground with the chain attached, on grass?concrete? And what type of

Kennel would it be? Where would the set up

Be? At a yard, in the back

Garden........

Any pics of chain and kennel

Set ups? Only ever seen one and it was

A german shepherd in appalling conditions with a small shitty kennel from the pet shop and the grass around him was gone and a mud out was there in a big circle around the kennel as far as the chain would reach.

Just curious that's all.....

Can you not use your imagination,ya knob.

They are dogs,not children!

Thats a rather odd response to call him a knob he was only asking a question. Just another spin on this thread cause there has been a lot of talk of dogs being more agressive etc I find dogs on chains more excitable always moving around and being generally hyper. Where as when my dogs are in there kennels they are there to rest and relax until there needed back out again.

I agree with this......sometimes the proof is in the pudding....some of the fittest most well looked after no expense spared dogs ive ever seen grew up on and lived on chain set up yards, often with multiple dogs.........having a dog on a chain is no excuse for letting shit build up or not socialising a dog thats just bad animal husbandry regardless where they are kept.....id rather a well kept dog on a chain than a poorly kept dog in the house.......the chain, likewise the run,is merely to stop the dog running away i fail to see how it makes a dog more aggressive unless the dog is neglected or poorly kept in some way.
