You say "leave the hares for you guys"; Well, I'd far rather course a daytime hare, than any other field sport... BUT, I was invited, a couple of years ago to shoot goose on the 1st of sept. I enjoyed

Sorry lads been feeding dogs, ferrets and hanging my pheasants. I see this thread has rattled a few people especially labtastic. Lets get a few things straight I'm not some arsehole with an unruly do

IMHO a lurcher takeing a pheasant in mid air is one of the finest sights you can witness a lurcher doing.

Sorry lads been feeding dogs, ferrets and hanging my pheasants. I see this thread has rattled a few people especially labtastic. Lets get a few things straight I'm not some arsehole with an unruly dog tht kills poults. Id say my dogs are trained to quite a high standard who take fur and feather REGULAR and not from around keepers pens. Personally I think a lurcher that takes fur and feather regular is priceless. Some people come across as snobs thinking birds should only be shot, this is not the point its about the intellegence of the dog not the price of a pheasant to be shot.

lets just put one thing right,my dog is stock broken, walks with hens all day,and in the summer with chicks also, she has the geese grabbing her tail, never touches them, and she never touches the pheasants in my pens, but if we are out on the hunt she knows different,if we are on other land its fair game, she also can be called of game.....the question was does your dog take feather, yes, she dont have to be around pheasant pens or rampaging through woods to take feather.
