Cheers, D. Yes mate, I have it here. Certainly some of it is true, I knew one of it's characters quite well but it paints a very dark picture of terriermen. stewie 3,387 Posted July 30, 2011 Report Share Posted July 30, 2011 my favorite book is "i walked by night" i first read it when i was about 13 and still love it to this day!!! a good book written by someone who ran his own dogs just to feed himself and his family, in a era when the lurcher was doing the job it was bred to do!!! its a shame we will never see the likes of these old books again that are not written for financial gain or ego stroking like some books in recent history but thats the way it is now Quote Link to post

I remember seeing him on tv when I was a nipper on a programme called How! And he skinned a rabbit and he started at it's head . Lloydys book Mouchers Tales is up there as well . other than those two , like charty i red a book cant remember the name , somthinig like 5 of the best,, its about 5 profesional deerhunters in New Zealand from the late 40's to the 70-80's a great read Quote Link to post
old timer123 367 Posted August 1, 2011 Report Share Posted August 1, 2011 just read gary middleton by sean frain not a bad book an it must have took some writing trying to unravel some of the pedigrees when middleton barely had any names for his dogs rex rex an rex lol must have took some writing good on ya sean matey yes a know there was a few mistakes in the book but what you expect middleton didnt even know or remember how half his dogs were bred so sean can only write what hes told well enjoyed it anyways what a could read mine was a poor copy lol :11: Quote Link to post
